Hello. I came upon your website in an arbitrary search for maps of the towns from which our grandparents emigrated. What is the best way to try and find ancestry info? Our grandfather was from Jelsane and was pulled from the fields to serve in the Austro-Hung army in WW1. Grandma was from a family of 10 children, nee Surina, that called Rupa home. They came to US with two other families: Hrvatin and Valencic. My guess is that the three men were all from Jelsane. Dad passed 7 yrs ago; Mom is selling the house to move to an apartment. My brother found immigration documents which started the search. Thanks!

Our surnames are Udjbinac and Sirak. They aren’t on the list either. Not sure how to get information from Croatian records. In that time creations were under Austrian-Hungarian control. Yugoslavia
