I am interested in locating a Peter “Belin or Beljan?” (born c. 1850) from Ozalj, Croatia area. My great-grandfather was his son Frank Belin. Any help in terms of Catholic Churches to contact for records would be very exciting for our family tree. Thank you! As a family we are very proud of our Croatia heritage!

Zdravo,
I am sorry to post my comment as a reply to your comment here as couldn’t find any other option on this page.
My last name is Balyan which is almost similar to the Belyan given on this page. I belong to the Jat community from India.
There’s an article on internet which connects Croates/Serbs/Jats as belonging to one race. Reading that and researching some more, I landed on this website and was pleasantly surprised a Croat last name similar to mine.
Croatian known as Hrvatska has been derived from Sarasvati river that existed in Rig Vedic times in India.
With genetic research opening the ancient migration secrets, hitherto lost in time, I hope will solve the race(s) riddle.
