My Grandmother’s maiden name was Macan. She married Frank Somin in Croatia. They emigrated to the US in the early 1900’s. They settled in Escanaba, Michigan… in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
I have little knowledge of my grandmother’s family in Croatia, other than my father and his sisters would send clothing/money to my grandmother’s brother in Croatia in the 1950’s and the 1960’s.
If you know more of the family in Croatia, please email.
Thank you,
Anthony Schomin

My grandmother’s maiden name was Suljak. She married Philip Macan in 1905-6 in Zagreb, I believe. He emigrated to the USA in 1906 and sent for her, who then came to the US in 1906. My grandparent s settled in the Kansas City, KS area and raised 9 girls. I am the second youngest grandchild of her line and would like to find if I have any relatives in Croatia.
