Zagreb and Split cemeteries data available online

Cemeteries have always been a great resource of genealogical data. It is not uncommon that devoted genealogists seek a piece of information about their ancestry by visiting a graveyard in a town or village where their forefathers lived.
The new technology allows the access of the data from a distance. Two largest cities in Croatia, Zagreb and Split, have recently made available on the internet searchable databases of names of deceased persons buried at local graveyards. The databases contain hundreds of thousands of entries.
Cemeteries within Zagreb City limits for which data is available online are: Mirogoj, Miroševac, Krematorij, Markovo polje, Brezovica, Cerje, Čučerje, Glavnica Donja, Gornje Vrapče, Gračani, Granešina, Jakuševec, Kašina, Kupinečki Kraljevec, Lučko, Markuševec, Moravče, Odra and Planina Donja.
As for Split, data for the largest cemetery Lovrinac is accessible over the internet.

I am searching for the graves of my Great Aunt and Uncle. They are Ankica Pancic and Ivica Pancic. They both died just before or just after their 1st birthday. Not sure as to where they are buried and would really like to know. Family members have gone to Croatia but forget to check on this information. Any information would be helpful. Thank You in advance for your assistance.
Sincerely
Kathy
You list they are available online, but you don’t say where? Do you have a url where they can be accessed?
Thanks 🙂
Dear Mrs. Worthy!
You are right! We need to fix this. But just for you- here are the links
ZAGREB http://www.gradskagroblja.hr/default.aspx?id=382
SPLIT http://www.lovrinac.hr/index.php/trazi-pokoj
But recently some more were added, so if you need to find out if your town has one, just Google ‘trazilica pokojnika (and then your town)’.
Best from the team

Hi
I am trying to find out what happens to a gravesite in Zagreb cemetery if the fees were not kept by a previous generation? The family owned the plot but then communism came and took those rights away. It appears now we only rented the space and should have been paying maintenance.

I would love to find any information about my grandparents. They lived around Zagreb in the mid 19th century. I am 70 years old. My dad Nicholas Kozlovac was born within a 15 mile radius of Zagreb in 1893. He had many brothers and sisters. he died in 1968 and is buried here. Even just their names would be greatly appreciated. I have many siblings too, a big loving family but no one has any info about them. May God bless you for any help.
