Porijeklo potiće iz 14 – tog stoljeća Dubrovačke Republike saoriginalnim prezimenom ZORIĆ kojemu se znaćajka tog prezimena daje po ljudima koji su se viđali rano u zoru. Promjena to ZORIĆ prezimena je nastala tokom izseljavanja u druge krsjeve Hrvatske kao što su to otok Korčula, Hvar te Zadarsko podrućje i otok Ugljan, predominantno Grad Preko u kojemu se to prezime spominje na nadgrobnim pločama i u današnjoj populaciji živih je još uvijek i danas razprostranjeno u tom kraju.
