History of Soldo family starts in small village Gornja Britvica near Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina.Young man in Britvica was taken by group of outlaws at the age of 6 to the city of Makarska.Makarska is city on a Adriatic Sea.At the age of 20 he went in Venice in army called soldat.When he returned in Makarska he decided to go in his birthplace Gornja Britvica,when he came to Britvica he stayed there and he built a house.He took new last name Soldo.Before that his last name was Filipović.

My great aunt, Jele(Helen) Suk, married a man named Soldin about 1917. Could this be connected to the Soldo name mentioned above? I have found no Soldin’s in Croatia. She died in Zagreb about 1977. She had at least one son.

hi im italian but thats my family name
we have always known in our family father s side that our far origins were located from beyond the alps but now im thinking we are in part croatians whatever the origin of the name if locals or italians originally who moved and settled in croatia
fact is my eyes shape look more similar to a croatian like the footballer vrsaliko than the average italian guy with higher eyebrows my hair is wavy and dark chestnut and for my generation i was well above average of the other kids heightwise
