Jerkovic is my surname. The “h” was added when my family came to US so as to give the proper pronunciation. Our branch of the family is (i believe) is the main stalk of the tree so to speak and originated from fJerkov Dvor, Zastrazisce, Island of Hvar, Dalmatia, Croatia. I you are interested in the genealogy of this surname my cousin bony as done extensive research which can be found here:

Hi Matthew,
Very interested in more information, doing a little family research at the moment, My name is Cody Yerkovich and my Great grandfather left Croatia from Hvar to New Zealand some years ago. This is where he and 2 of his brother migrated, i am aware that a few brother left for the US at the same time and 2 to Argentina– I am wondering where our connection is?
Any more info would be awesome 🙂
Thanks!
Cody Yerkovich ( Jerkovic)

Would be interested in initiated contact with you to see if we are related. I am going to Croatia next month and really looking forward to it. Mathew is my cousin. He recently had surgery so that is probably why he has not answered you. You may contact me at my email address and check out my web site. It is still a work in progress and growing day-by-day so there will be changes at least weekly. I had serious health issues last year and it through a curve at me, but am now fine and proceeding full steam ahead.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Bob
Hi Bob,
Apologies for the late response I have not been on this website in some time, having a new daughter can certainly take up your time! She has recently turned one it has been a busy year! How was your travel to Croatia? What is your website/email?Would love further information… I feel we may be connected through my great grandfathers brothers as far as I am aware the Yerkovich (Jerkovic) family was small in Croatia, there were many in both Hvar and Split…
What is your grandfather/great grandfathers name? Look forward to your contact,
Regards,
Cody
Hi Cody,
Its been quite some time since i posted here. I actually forgot i did, then stumbled across my post and your response…took a few seconds to realize i was reading me! Apologies for not responding but I had to spend a few years kicking cancers ass. belated congratulations on your now 2+ yr old daughter…she had to be born less than a year after my 2nd boy, who was born (3/5/14) about 6 months before my diagnosis I’m glad my cousin Robert made contact with you, he is most definitely the one to speak with as the work he has put in on researching our family history is nothing short of astounding (plus he’s an absolute sweetheart of a man whom i love dearly). I dont know if or what you were able to determine from bob, but i know my father mentioned family in New Zealand, and i suspect you are part of them as Hvar is small but our surname is not. if you by chance see this post please feel free to contact me at mdj81571@gmail.com.
My name is Jasmine Yerkovich and my great grandfather Peter jerkovic migrated to nz as well many years ago changing the spelling to what it is now.
He had 11 children (i think) many have passed on now but my grandfather is still living in nz.
