My Grandmother, Cecilia Car was born in Silo, Krk, Croatia in 1895. She married my Grandfather, Ivan Kirincic from Dobrinj, Krk in 1928 and moved to Indiana, USA. I am looking for family to help me with a genealogy chart.
I believe you’re probably a part of the Crikvenica (more accurately – Dramalj aka Sveta Jelena / Cari) branch of the Car family. Maybe try contacting a church there (in Dramalj and/or Crikvenica), they sure know at least something about our family history; certainly much more than I could tell you. 🙂

My father, Ivan Car (John Carr) came to America about 1941 with his mother, Baldina Car (Pazich). My grandfather, Vladimir Car, arrived in America prior to them, about 1934. Hi! My family ‘Car’ is from Crikvenica and there are so many with the same name! Especially Ivan, or Ivo Car. You’d really need to know their family nickname in order to sort a lot of this out. We’re known as the Solarič family.
I also have family members with the names Ivan, Ivica, Vladimir and so forth.
My great grandmother’s maiden name was Car and she was from Crkvenica
