In “A History of Croatia” the name is first mentioned in the 12th century (if my memory is correct). I believe the spelling referenced was “Cindrij” Recently, an Austrian friend told me that the name was very old and perhaps predates the slavic tribes, which is surprising since it appears similar to other names. I am curious about what it means.

Dio obitelji ostaje živjeti u Bjelovaru do smrti, dio seli u Križevce pa u Zagreb, gdje uglavnom i danas žive potomci Ivana Cindrića.
