My grandfather, Marko Milkovich, came from Zagreb. He came to America around 1920 and settled in Cleveland. If anyone has any history of our name in Croatia/Yugoslavia I would appreciate it. We hear there was nobility and even a castle sometime in the middle ages. Any help would be appreciated.

my grandmother Marija Milkovic was from the village Sveti Marko in the province Lika. In this small village lived mainly people with the family name Milkovic.

My grandfather also came to America around the early 1900s. He settled in Cold Spring NY. He was from Perusic. A small town in central Croatia. I visited that town and it appeared that about 20% of the families had the last name Milkovic.
