My grandfather, Michael (Mica) Nicholas Potkovac came to the USA from Croatia ( via a ship that left from a port off Italy )
I can’t remember what year, late 1800’s or early 1900’s(?)
I was recently given a copy of a photo of my Great( or great great) grandparents and a young daughter. I believe his name was Joseph( Josef) … As far as I know, my father’s family are the only Potkovac’s here in the USA .
My late father John and his brother Joseph , each have one daughter , no sons. My uncle Mickey( Michael) has 4 sons, Michael ( deceased ) Matthew , Mark, and John… Michael has 2 sons, Nicholas and Michael , John has 2 sons , Joseph and Jacob . Are there any families on Croatia who may have come from the family of Joseph Potkovac or Michael ( Mica) Potkovac (1800’s)? Since there are so few of us with the Potkovac name, I’m thinking we all must come from the same family!?
