Louis and Jeni Ruzic immigrated to the United States from Croatia many years ago. When they arrived here in the US their names were changed to Ruzich by immigration. They had two children, Joseph Louis Ruzich and Margie Ruzich. Joseph married Kathleen Ford and had three children with her, Kenneth Ruzich, Joseph Ruzich Jr., and Ron Ruzich. Margie Ruzich married Keith Sowl and did not have children.
I would like to find the Ruzic family members that we are related to in Croatia. Is there any one who can help us? We lost track of everyone after the war. Joseph and Kathlenn made a trip to Yugoslavia and met with relatives, but have since passed away so we have no references to go by or any starting points.
I am Cheri Ruzich, wife of Ron Ruzich. My daughter Christa Jo Ruzich Dorsey and I recently traveled to Croatia and tried to look up her roots but we were unsuccessful. We would really like to find our relatives as some day we would like to visit again and would like to invite our relatives to visit us here also, but we need to make sure they are indeed our relatives.

I’m from Russia, Siberia. My great-grandfather’s name was Michael Ruzic. Unfortunately nothing else I know.
Hi,
I live in the US but my family originated in the Rijeka region. I have evidence from church records going back several hundred years that would indicate the family has been there at least that long. Heading west out of Rijeka, you will also find a village called Ruzici that has been around for at least 10 generations. I have been back there several times and speak the local dialect (although rather badly now!!). The old timers, based on oral history, tell me that the family originated on one of the local islands – possibly Cres but more likely Mali Losinj.
Clearly, there are several branches to the family name.
The Italian branch has individuals of that name throughout Istria and the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. In the 17th century, under the Hapsburgs, the name was Austrianized to Rossich but it has also been localized to Rossi.
Hope this helps.

Hello. My name is Abby Ruzic.
My grandfather Joseph Ruzic had escaped from the war to Canada and had a son also named ‘Joseph Ruzic’, who is my Father.
I’d love to talk to people who share the same last name. If you wish to reach me, my email is: blueexo352@gmail.com
My great-grandmother was Ružić, she was from a small town in the north of Croatia called Donji Krajevec near the Hungarian border but seems most of the people with that surname are not from that region. The Zagreb library archives can help if people are looking for relatives. Supposedly you can pay someone there to help you search from what I have heard. Hope that helps someone.
There is a jazz pianist named Zvjezdan Ružić who lives in Croatia and has a band called the Zvjezdan Rušić Sextet. .Might be fun to check him out. He is Google-able.
My grandfather came from Yugoslavia. Settled in demopolis Alabama. Had Many children
Contact me and we can discuss. Family reunion planned for June 2018 in Alabama
Hi,
In response to Ivan Ruzic’s response of the 1-5-2015, I would like to add, that there is a little town named Ruzici between Rijeka (Fume) and the Slovenian boarder.
I also recall that our family were mariners and travelled to the USA and back to Trieste and that some our family also migrated to Slovenia.
After WWII a few migrated to Perth Australia. Our family plus a cousin disembarked in Melbourne Australia.
In response to srdjan dated 3-22-2015 . We too have a cousin Anka who would have passed by now in Croatia some where near Bresca. Not sure if that is of any relevance.
Hello I have family from Croatia with the last name Ribic or Ribich on my father’s side and my mothers cousin has family from Croatia with the surname Ruzich is it possible both are related?
Hello,
My grandfather was named Mane Ruzich and he emigrated to Cleveland from Lika Croatia in the early 1900’s. He had a son and two daughters, one of which was my mom. His son was named Steve Ruzich and he played football for Woody Hayes at Ohio State. He was a great athlete and an All American in football. After that he was drafted by the Browns, and traded to the Packers. He played for the Packers for three years. I don’t know my grandfathers family, but I did meet one of his relatives named Predrag once. Predrag was a carver and made beautiful furniture. Best Regards, Aaron
My grandfather’s name was Blaz Ruzic.
Need to contact man who’s father was Blaz Ruzic.
