Last name Tomašević is of Montenegrin origin, but later it expanded over Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia. The most famous person with that last name was Serbian king Stefan Tomašević(Of Kotromanić Dynasty from Bosnia).
He wasnt Serbian king. He was Bosnia king and he was roman catholic.
Tomasevic is of Bosnian origin. Originally Kotromanovic…In order receive official recognition as King of Bosnia by the church, he needed to demonstrate loyalty to the Pope by disposing of his pagan wife – a bogumil from Central Bosnia – and changing his name to King Tomas after patron Saint Tomas. King Tomas’ first born son assumed the last name Tomasevic (son of Tomas). You can read all about this on Wikipedia. It’s not an easy read, as it’s turbulent sadly ending in the loss of the Christian Kingdom of Bosnia and beheading by the Turks. Both Serbs and Croats rightfully revere this king. Even during the time of the latest war, protecting the Catholic church that hosted his severed body. I believe King Tomasevic’s wife built the church -a prominent Serbia princess who converted to Catholicism to appease the Pope). That’s as far as I know.
Sorry, Kotromanic, not Kotromanovic.
